Masilo Charles Maake is a sole practitioner of the firm Masilo Maake Attorneys which is a wholly black owned law firm. The firm commenced practice on the 3rd May 2016.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Mr. Masilo Maake has worked extensively in the Public Service as a Labour Law Specialist and in this regard worked for the following departments from 2003:

• Department Public Service and Administration.

• Eastern Cape Departments of Education, Provincial Treasury, Roads and Public Works.

Mr. Maake worked as Chief of Staff in the Department of Sport and Recreation in 2010 and then as Director Labour Relations from 2011 to 2016. During the period July 2014 to April 2016 Mr. Maake was seconded to Boxing South Africa as Administrator to Boxing South Africa [BSA].

Mr. Maake has vast experience in Public Service administration and more specifically the investigation and prosecution of misconduct cases as well as chairing of disciplinary cases. His area of speciality is the investigation of complex and serious cases of financial misconduct involving transgressions of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes and Human Resource (HR) related offences including irregular appointments and transgressions of the recruitment policies in general. He has also established Collective Bargaining structures in the Department of Roads and Public Works, Eastern Cape.
